i guess what's undesirable about gambling is the vicious cycle it traps one in, but i wonder why people don't hold on to the hope of winning as tightly after taking a loss in real life

Very interesting point of view. Perhaps real life appears too mechanical compared to the casino's, leaving little hope that your life can suddenly and surprisingly improve.
Yeah, I get that. Real life losses just feel... heavier. In a casino, you can tell yourself the next one might change everything, but outside of it, it’s harder to believe in a big turnaround. Maybe that’s why people let go of hope faster?

idk i think the reward isn't big enough in real life. what's a couple losses in the casino if you believe the next one will make you strike it rich?
